John 2: 13-17

We get distracted so easily.  What is really important and what is the stuff we can let go?  Jesus was interested in people having a relationship with him and God. He did not want that relationship to be lessened by the quest for worldly possessions. Jesus chased away those who were distracting others at the temple.  What are your distractions?  TV, iPads, iPhones, computers, games, money, anxiety, worry, worldly possessions!  Who are we trying to impress?  We do not need to give up all of our important “things”, we just need to keep them in perspective.  Do not be distracted by these “things”.  Remember we are temples of God and we need to keep in mind what is really important…our relationships with God and God’s creation. What does the Lord require of you? To seek justice, to love mercy, and to walk humbly with your God.

GPS Question:

Jesus began the “Occupy Movement” long before Wall Street by disrupting the Temple’s economic system. What disruptive activity have you engaged, might you engage, in for the sake of economic (distributive) justice?
