Reflection: November 2, 2020

Juliane Poirier Pastor's Corner

This is my song, O God of all the nations, a song of peace for lands afar and mine; this is my home, the country where my heart is; here are my hopes, my dreams, my holy shrine: but other hearts in other lands are beating with hopes and dreams as true and high as mine.

My country’s skies are bluer than the ocean, and sunlight beams on cloverleaf and pine; but other lands have sunlight too, and clover, and skies are everywhere as blue as mine: O hear my song, Thou God of all the nations, a song of peace for their land and for mine.

This Is My Song United Methodist Hymnal #437

I set my alarm this morning for 2am so I could pray during our 24-hour Prayer Vigil for Peace. I’ve realized that we need to keep this prayer going, so please join in by setting an intentional time to pray, or pray whenever you feel “nudged” by the Spirit. We started the Prayer Vigil for Peace Sunday at noon so let’s continue through Wednesday at noon. Let’s imagine the world surrounded with our prayers for peace. “O hear my song, Thou God of all the nations, a song of peace for their land and for mine.”

In faith,

Marylee
