Speaking of God, HOPE, Week 5 Day 4

Brooke Eikenberry Speaking of God

Bible verses that help me understand hope are as follows:

Jeremiah 29:11

Proverbs 3:5

Psalm 139:1-18, 23, 24

Hope for me is built on faith and trust in God’s guidance. “Thy will, not mine, Lord,” is my mantra. I don’t see the whole picture, God does. I rely on God’s guidance and am thankful for all my experiences and blessings: in nature around me, in people who cross my path, in mine and other’s creative ideas, in sounds, sights, smells, touch, and taste. Through song, my hopes gain stature: Melanie DeMoore’s song, “I will be your standing stone, I will stand by you.”

Hope shows me Heaven on Earth. I see glimpses through friends and acquaintances when loving kindness is both given and received. I often sing the song by Kate Munger,

“When I know,

Who walks beside me,

On the path that is unfolding,

Fear becomes impossible.”

As a culture, I believe we are adapting and using old sustainable practices again and using creativity also to bring new solutions to our global crises. Trusting that if we do our part, we can evolve into a world that feeds everyone and provides medical care for all: this is my hope.  As stated in the song by Macrim Wiederkeh and Velma Fry, “Let the lantern of my life move gently this night, into all the places where light is needed.”

Heaven on earth

Open to God’s guidance of what to do

Pray for everyone’s well-being

Enjoy the journey in each moment’s blessing

Standing stone: God is my foundation.
