Cathedral Choir

The Cathedral Choir is the flagship choral ensemble of the Napa Methodist Church and sings a wide variety of choral music ranging from classical to gospel and ballads to rock ‘n’ roll. The choir is open to adults and youth, and while it strives for a high level of performance, there is no audition, and reading music is not required. Choral experience is desirable but is also not required. In addition to presenting anthems and leading worship three to four times a month during the school year, the choir presents an annual Palm Sunday Concert, participates in choral festivals throughout northern California, and performs music from a Broadway musical at the end of the choir season (June) each year. Cathedral Choir also participates in choral exchanges and collaborations locally and throughout the western US and is available to sing for weddings, memorial services, and other events. The choir has sung the national anthem at a San Francisco Giants game and has produced and presented multiple extraordinary worship experiences with Carlton Young, including Pentecost, Revelation, Genesis, and many more.

Jan LantermanThe Cathedral Choir has been conducted by Director of Music Jan Lanterman since 1973.
