Church History

Church members have participated in the CROP Walk, AIDS Walk, Breast Cancer Walks. The church has sponsored Troop 2 of the Boy Scouts of America for over one hundred years and recently began a Girl Scout troop. The church participates in the Table feeding program. The church’s young people have worked on Native American reservation housing through the Sierra Service Project for many years. The church is known for the excellence of its music program.

Just recently, the church has affiliated with The Center for Progressive Christianity and also has become a Reconciling Congregation, expressly welcoming persons of every gender identity into fellowship.

For 166 years the First United Methodist Church of Napa has been a faithful Christian presence in this community and looks forward with optimism and enthusiasm to many more of service as God’s instrument for peace and love and justice.
