These next three days are known as Hallowtide: All Hallow’s Eve, All Saint’s Day, and All Soul’s Day. From the early centuries of Christianity, November 1-2 have been observed as days to remember the dead. Click here to read more about these sacred days.
This Sunday morning we have an extra hour because we “fall back” by setting our clocks back an hour. Sunday morning we’ll awake in a new time zone. I’ve been wondering what time zone and what world we’ll awaken to on November 6, and in the months to come. Whatever the outcome of this election, may love be our fallback position, since Jesus said it’s the one thing that identifies us as His followers.
Our sanctuary will be open on Tuesday, November 5, from 8am-6pm, as a place for safety and sanity for all who would like to hold our country, and the world, in the light of Christ. Please invite others to come for any amount of time for silent prayer, to light a candle, and to keep peace.
