I experienced an event in my life that has been etched in my memory for all these years.
I was in my second year of Dental School at Loyola U. In Chicago when I received word that my Dad had passed away in San Diego. It was a complete surprise to me when I found out that my classmates had donated money in order for me to fly to California to attend the funeral.
I was grateful for their generosity that eased the financial burden and allowed me to return home for a few days.
Prayer: When you are struck with one of life’s setbacks, it is comforting to know that you do not have to go it alone, and help may come from an unexpected source. Amen
