I wish I was doing it faster… getting rid of books, letting go of furniture, organizing the weeks ahead, knowing what kind of help to ask for, etc. We’re not sure at this point if our house in Fremont will be ready for us to move into in June so “moving” feels kind of nebulous. I’ve been reaching for my prayer beads in moments of overwhelm. I love this quote from A Bead and A Prayer, “…simply hold the beads. Cling to them if you need to. You may not do anything else with them, but the very act of holding your prayer beads is a prayer. The beads are reminding you that you are not alone in that difficult place. God is with you – as close to you as the beads between your fingers.”
I’ve been helping string (or restring) the prayer beads we’re using in worship and there’s been something sacred about choosing beads for someone else to hold onto. I’m holding onto Love in this time of transition for all of us, because love can move us forward into joy.

Now I need to go pack a box.
