A memorable Mother’s Day gift idea: Multimedia Concert and Art Show in Napa — music, art, and a reception all in one afternoon in beautiful downtown Napa.
Internationally acclaimed artist He Qi joins composer Allan Robert Petker for a multimedia art-and-music experience in Napa on Mother’s Day, Sunday, May 10th in downtown Napa. Petker will conduct Touch, a musical work inspired by He Qi’s art, performed by the Napa Methodist Cathedral Choir with orchestra while He Qi’s art is projected onscreen to create an immersive, multisensory program. A post-concert reception and art exhibition will follow, with He Qi exhibiting original works and prints available for purchase.
He Qi’s bold use of color, embellished forms, and expressive brushwork blend Chinese folk art with Western influences spanning the Middle Ages to modernism. His work has been described as “Chagall meets Matisse meets Picasso meets the East.” Allan Petker is a published composer and arranger with more than 250 published musical works.
The Grand Opening begins at 3:00 PM on Sunday, May 10. He Qi will be in attendance, with original works and prints available for purchase.
