Everyone needs an appreciation Sunday and a basketful of care and kindness! Thank you so much to our Staff Parish Relations Committee and everyone who expressed their love and appreciation for me on Pastor’s Appreciation Sunday! Being in ministry with all of you is a gift ~ and I hope that I often remember to tell you how much I appreciate you.
The news is hard right now, and we feel the grief and horror of war, whether or not we’re watching CNN. What breaks God’s heart can’t help but also break ours. Appreciation might be one of the things that can lift our hearts from the sadness, and bring us to the sacredness of the moment. Let’s try expressing appreciation to our families, to neighbors, clerks, mail-persons, waitstaff, teachers, and to our congregation. “Thank you. I appreciate you.” Five words that can turn around a hard day and make someone feel noticed and cared for. Come on.. let’s slather love and appreciation all around the world.
