Between Lost and Found
I have been fortunate in my life to be helping many who were lost, and I have been effective in giving them hope. So many people have struggled to feel whole and a part of the world. People often have negative thoughts, hopelessness, and guilt.
Working for Progress Foundation for 35 years, I counseled many individuals who were depressed or grieving, having hallucinations (at times negative commands), and frequently thoughts of suicide would occur. I am grateful to be a good listener and gifted in providing hope and healing to those in need.
Strangers, friends, and family all need to be listened to in a non-judgmental way. Like the Pharisees and the scribes, others in my company, would watch while someone received more attention or more leniency due to the level of their suffering or illness. It wasn’t fair! As parents, sometimes one child gets more attention, chances, or monetary help…it isn’t fair. But if you do your best to help others thru life challenges and they come out the other side stronger, healthier, improved, then it was all worth it.
I remember every person who successfully ended their life, every lamb is important. I am taught by this parable that life isn’t fair but it can be rewarding and every lamb matters.
Prayer: God make I be generous with the gifts you have given me. Help me to not worry about fairness, and to share abundantly with others, as others have supported and shared abundantly with me. Amen
