THE GIFT OF EMPTINESS

Emptiness,…some may like it – some may not like it.  Sometimes it just depends on how you define the word.

For many they may not like the feeling of emptiness. Being alone, or empty on funds, and in so many other ways. Yet some may never really feel that way much.  Being so busy with so many people; so much to do and so much going on in the schedules they have to do with business or family or friends, etc.  Some may just prefer a vacation or time alone.

But how long can any of us stand to be alone without missing certain things in life?   Life has so much out there for us all, and never leaves us feeling empty. Just like a person can either view a glass half full as good enough, or half empty and need more.  A pessimist sees life as half empty. But an optimistic seems it half full.

Ever go out in the woods or desert?  There is so much out there to see and learn that God has given us!  Just all that’s out there are the basic needs for nature and people to survive. For as they say – Emptiness is what can make some things possible. Spiritual hope and joy and God can and will fill your emptiness. Look what he did in the beginning and with all he created.  So, make something of yourself if you have an emptiness.  For faith brings a person empty to God; that he may be filled with the blessings of God, pouring his love into our empty hearts.

Prayer:  Help us to know the love of Christ which surpass all knowledge, that we might be filled with all the fullness of God.  Amen
