THE GIFT OF BEING THUNDERSTRUCK

I don’t use the term “thunderstruck” much, as most of my life experiences seem to be less awe inspiring than that. But yet, it seems to be in the small things of my life that I am most likely to feel the most impact.  Things like a beautiful and complete rainbow that my mind takes a picture of so that I can recall it later, but more phenomenal are experiences connected to my “people experiences”.

During this past year while I have been wrestling with the changes thrust upon me by the death of my dear husband, I have had experiences through other people that have made me “sit up and take notice”, of people and of God.  I see God moving in my life in ways that I didn’t even know I needed, until I did. Sometimes God’s presence in life takes me by surprise and makes me stop, feel gratitude, wonder, and to smile.

Prayer:  Dear God, I thank you for the many blessings, in small and larger ways, that you inject into my life. Please help me to be aware of the many “God things” in my daily life and to behave towards others in a manner that can share your blessings with others.  Amen
