Sierra Service Project

The Sierra Service Project is a Christian non-profit organization associated with the United Methodist Church that believes in: “Building faith and strengthening communities through service to others.” For generations, Napa Methodist Church has partnered with the Sierra Service Project in mobilizing high school students as volunteer carpenters, painters, and handy people, serving communities across the West Coast forgotten by mainstream American society. Students spend a week during the summer with high schoolers or middle schoolers from other churches and denominations bringing hope to inner-city neighborhoods, rural communities, and Native American reservations. Upon returning home, Sierra Service participants share the transformative power of service and community building. Students entering their 6th grade year or graduating from their senior year of high school are eligible to participate.
